I recently heard that Medium is based on a real life story. It make me wonder. Are there really people out there like that? Also what makes this possible? Is it some part of the brain maybe that special people can access?

I've wondered about this myself. There IS a real Alison DuBois in Arizona, and the show is based on her life. There are some differences - the real life Allison DuBois says that she doesn't usually have dreams all the time, but feelings and images sent to her from departed people. Anyway, she has some books out - the last one is called "We are their heaven" or something like that. It was just released. That said, I think that there are spirits or "energies" around us and that some people are more in-tune to them than others. I think that more children are aware of them but as we get older, our practical sides take over and we lose some contact with spirituality.

Thanks for the book info. I will have to look into them. I had no idea it was based ona true story. My mom says she can see things, but she is so nuts that I don't believe her.

I don't know if it is based on actual events. I do wonder however if it is possible. If it is could it even be proven.

I had heard that there was a real Allison Dubois. I hate I missed her on Oprah. I don't like that Edwards guy either. I think he is full of crap. I will check to see if I can get her books in the library.

I saw an interview on TV with the real person and I was surprised at how good looking she was, she looked to be about the same age as the actress who portrayed her on the TV show. It was an amazing story and what she could tell audience members was unreal.

My understanding is it is based on a true story. I think it was this last Thursady, Oprah had her, the real one on the show. In addition she had others. I wish I hadn't missed it.

I don't usually watch daytime television, but I accidentally saw that Allison DuBois was going to be on the show so I Tivo'd it. I watched it last night. John Edwards was also on. Oddly, I didn't get a good vibe from him. I don't believe he's a medium. Nothing he said or did convinced me. But Allison did. I admit that I watch the show every week, so maybe I'm predisposed to believe her. But putting that aside, she seemed more genuine on the show. I believed her.
