Hi all, Living and work in USA is like a dream for some people. But I tell you what, the Government of USA is giving away up to 50,000 green card every year. What is a "Green Card" anyway? It is an immigrant visa that allows an alien to become a lawful permanent resident of U.S and to work legally, travel abroad and return, bring in a spouse and children become eligible for citizenships. But because there are so many request that couldn't be all served. The U.S Government giving it away in the form of lottery, so that every body have a same opportunity to get it. I've submit my entry, may be you'd like to submit yours.... Who knows, you are chosen to get your own Green card. Visit my profile page to submit your entry. http://www.mylot.com/tambangmas

Good information but I heard that the Philippines is not included in the list of countries that may avail of this promotion. I couldn't understand why the US exclude our country the Philippines. My children would like also to go there because accordingly it's easier to find jobs and receive good salaries.

For that reason, I don't have any answer right Now. But I will try to check it out. Yep, Now I have an answer: According to INSExperts.com, a country is excluded from American Green Card Lottery for this reason: The Green Card Lottery Registry is designed to increase the diversity of overall pool of immigrants coming to US. Countries that are proportionately over represented in the immigrant populations are excluded. These countries have sent than 50,000 immigrants to US and the last 5 years. Yea, I've heard that Phillihines was excluded in 2006, so was south Korea. But who knows, in this year you've been included. Best wishes for you all....

I hope the Philippines would also be included so that other Filipinos will have the chance to work and live in the United States. I am now old and no longer interested but my children want also to go there for better jobs.

I used to think of living and working in the United States. But now, I guess I am in the other United as well (but not US, instead it's the UK). lol Thank you for the information about the greencard lotto. When I was in the States, I tried it once, but no luck. My parents used to have the greencards before. They got them through the lawyers (paying lawyers to get them). I wish you luck with the lottery. I know a friend of mine, did try the lottery and he won! I think he's a citizen already in the States, I have no idea. It's been a while. I lost contact with him already. Ah, green card, you bring back all that good memories of the States.

when i was small i dreamed of living and working in the USA, as my unties and uncles migrated there. but when i grew up, i realized that living andworking there is not that easy, you have to work hard to make a living there. and not everyone is successful, some failed and returned here in the philippines, while some found a greener pasture... now i am contented with my life here in the philippines, with my husband and my son beside, life will get better and better for me...and i won't last a day without them on my side. good day

Heheheh In spite of which country we are living now, yet we have to work hard to gain something. I believe of Pareto's Principle that in any groups, country, union or whatever there's lies a law of 20:80 imbalance. Where 20% of people seems so successful while another 80% is living average or below the standard. I just wish that every of us put every best effort to gain what we want. Don't bother about the result.
