flashbacks of tragedy

Flashbacks, flashbacks, flashbacks.....I can't take it anymore. The racing thoughts, the "what if's". Will it ever get easier? I don't think so at times. Just to see him lifeless and dead, and you can hear the sound. I just want the sound to go away. Everything else might be easier if I could not remember the sound of my 5 month old baby boy while I was giving him CPR. Coping skills they say do wonders. But if you can't get past what you have to cope with, what do you do? Any ideas would be appreciated. God bless and ciao for now.

hey look.....i'm iunknown to u . but i too have undergone such a situation.....i know how it is when ur nearest one leaves u.....but look life doesn't stop then and there.....u say u have two more kids to look afer....do u realise how they'll feel if u keep remembering whom u'v lost and in the midst of that if at times u become less concerned 'bout who u have.....how painful it would be for them to take this? u keep remembering him and ur other childen also do, but that doesn't take u away fromthe reality.all it gives u is pain...so pls. try to divert ur mind in looking after those u have rather than those whom u've lost....atleast then , u'll be able to live happily.....make them feel that they too r as inp as the one eho is not there.......

Ciao Sassyitalian, come stai? The lost of a child is always a very dramatic event, which is difficult to overcome by itself. Have you gotten the help of a good therapist. Today they are many wonderful treatment options for posttraumatic stress disorder. I don't believe you can cope if first you haven't dealt with the lost. They also have group therapy with mothers that have experienced similar circumstances. Support systems such as church, family and friends can help. However, in my opinion you really need to get a few theraphy sections that will help you. I truly promise that you'll feel better. Buona fortuna! A presto! Bambo318
