I like watching rachel rays show, but I really can't prepare any meal in matter of 30 minutes. The shortest time would be one hour. Have you ever done one? What did you cook?

don't believe rachel ray. she's garbage. If you've got some of the items prepared ahead of time you can make some great pasta dishes. For example, i've you have a homemade tomato sauce and you have some good italian sausage you can have a great meal in about 25 minutes. Start your pasta water boiling, cook the sausage (about 8-10 minutes) add some of the tomato sauce to the saute pan and turn off the heat. pasta takes between 5-11 minutes depending on the shape. So ten minutes to boil water, 10 minutes to cook the pasta and you've got a great meal in less than thirty. but you have to prep ahead of time.

That's what I'm trying to say, cooking time could take 30 mins but the preparation of ingredients usually takes longer.

I make a lot of quick meals. Pasta and tomato sauce is pretty quick...15 to 20 minutes. I also make veggie stir fry with brown rice that takes about 20-25 minutes. There's always the grilled cheese and tomato soup dinner or "breakfast for dinner" pancakes with fruit.

same here i haven't tried cooking a meal for 30 minutes but if she can do it so can we right... it takes practice and mastery of cooking for us to prepare foods in 30 minutes but still, there is always place for learning new things. well, good luck for us to learn how to cook for 30 minutes. right...

I love making panini or pressed sandwiches in my george foreman grill. Some of my favorites are ham, cheese, and garlic jelly, or Salamin, cheese and roasted peppers. A sandwich with a side salad or some grilled veggies is a great quick meal.

I do it all the time. One of my favorits is a seafood dish that I steam. I put lots of seasoning in a pot with some water. I put chopped onions, chopped garlic and bay seasoning in the water. I put crab legs, shrimp and clams over it and let it steam for about 20 minutes. While that is steaming, I make a salad with lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, purple onions and carrots. All can be done in less than 30 minutes. Hope this helps. Lloyd

It's really ashame that seafood is so expensive where you live. Here in South Jersey you can get a pound of crablegs for about $6.99. Shrimp cost anywhere from $4.99 to $7.99 a pound depending on the size. The type of clams I like are called Little Necks. They go for $4.99 per dozen. Sometimes you can get them on sale at $5.99 for about 3 dozen. Lloyd

If my dishes are clean, food is thawed and I'm not being constantly distracted, I can make a great meal that quickly. Tonight we had fried fish, homemade mac & cheese and fresh steamed artichokes. Took me about 25 minutes to get it on the table. I even got most of the dishes done while things were cooking. I believe the key to doing quick meals is to have everything coordinated so they'll finish at the same time.
