I love Joe Cocker, that raspy, soulful voice takes me back to my days in Mississippi where you could hear the most inspirational, heartfelt renditions. I was not allowed as child to listen to anything but gospel and as I got older I would sneak and listen to Rhythm and blues, down home blues and swing. I had an uncle that owned a bar and grill and when he would open up I would sit behind the counter and close my eyes when someone would play the juke box. That music would speak to a part of me that I now have come to know as my soul. When I hear Joe Cocker I can close my eyes and remember the days at the bar and grill. I love his voice and the emotion he puts in the songs he sings. Joe Cocker is a great artist and I hope he keeps on going for many years to come. Have you ever really listened to him? What do you or don't you like about him?

I have always been a fan of Joe Cocker. At one time he had a lot of bad publicity for his way of playing his "air" guitar when on stage but so did Jerry Lewis in his earlier movies when he walked and talked in a funny (strange) manner. Both were accused of ridiculing people with a deformity or were mentally challenged! Which I thought was just jealousy on the part of the name calling people.
