Do you like your local news?

Every time I watch the teaser for the local news, or the actual local news, I am horrified. I live in Kansas City and I feel like the local news thinks I have a below average IQ and obsession with the most reprehensible people in my city. Everything is a scandal (and if it's not they don't report it) or the super-heartwarming story of blah, blah, blah. It's insulting. Most of the reports are really just a salacious recounting of the police blotter - it's like there's no war in the middle east at all. Is anyone else's city like this?
