Do fishes like to stay in the acquarium or in the open sea?

I love to watch fishes in my fish aquarium. I came to know that these fishes are not real sea fishes . these are hybrids specially breeded for acquarium. But somepeople keep starfish, sea-horses etc. I always think that whether they are happy. Is this good to keep them for own happiness. Will they enjoy the life in open sea better than here?

I am a scuba diver as well as an aquarium owner and to me each is equally as wonderful for seeing fish.
While scuba diving provides you with so many different species in their natural envirionment, an aquarium provides me with a marine getaway from the comfort of my own home. It really relaxes me to watch my fish swim so effortlessly and glide through the water.
To address your question, I keep small fish in a 10 gallon tank so there is enough room for them and I do hope that they are comfortable.
