oven clean

how do u clean the oven,mine doesnt have a self clean cycle.i bought an oven cleaner from walmart,sprayed it all over including the racks and left it overnght,this morning ,when i wiped it off with paper towels,some white streaks are still there.i am so perplexed,dont know how to remove them.moreover i am scared too,i feel i might get schocked by the coil of the oven.

I use "Easy Off" spray the oven the night before. In the morning I wash the cleaner off with warm water until all the cleaner is gone and then use a glass cleaner to polish the surface.

Using glass cleaner is a good idea, I haven't thought of that one. Thanks!

Try a damp cloth and rub it on the streaks. I hope this helps.

The glass cleaner is a good idea, I would try that one. I've had the white streaks before too and used hot soapy water and a sponge to remove them. I have a self cleaning oven now and it's basically worthless. I don't use the self cleaning cycle because it just doesn't get it clean. It's easier and quicker to do it myself. I like the Easy-Off brand, I think it works better on the tuff spots.
