It is very hard to understand depression unless you have really experienced it. I few years ago I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder, which is the scientific name in the mental health community. It is something where you cannot snap out of it, like some people might think. You just feel so sad an empty that you just want to end it all. There's no hope, no future, everything seems gloomy and dark. While being in the hospital I met some wonderful human beings who suffered this same disorder. Even withing my depression I found the strenght to help other in there, by just talking to them and giving them some company. That was six years ago. After experiencing the worse feelings in my life, I decided "No more" I graduated with honors with a bachelors in psychology and are now on my second year of graduate school to obtain a Master's in Mental Health Counseling. Sometimes you cannot do it yourself and you need help. For those who suffer from depression I tell you there's a lot of hope. The mental health community has grown dremendously and the treatment options for depression are very effective. Do not hesitate to ask me contact me should need someone to talk to. Good luck!
