The bamboo tree is pliant and can resist strong typhoons and rises high. The sound is noisy but great when blown by the wind. As to purpose, there are lots of things that could be made from bamboos - for walls, floors, etc. The shoot alone could be cooked into many different delicious recipes. This is food for many Filipinos. Try it if you have not yet tried.

The coconut tree would be a good choice because it is touted to be the "tree of life". In our country, all parts of the coconut is of economic use. Although I do not like the quality of coconut lumber though.

According to: http://members.aol.com/poteetlib/gen/tree.html I'm a maple tree. "Independence of Mind. No ordinary person, full imagination and originality, shy and reserved, ambitious, proud, self-respect, hungers for new experiences, sometimes nervous, many complexes, good memory, learns easily, complicated love life, wants to impress." I wouldn't say it isn't even 50% accurate for me.
