Why do Wife's take Husband's for granted?

I have a friend of mine who has been working hard both at home and office. He wakes up at around 4.30am in the morning and keeps the breakfast ready and then after serving his wife rushes to office. The same is repeated in the evenings too. He washes clothes,cleans utensils,keeps the house clean, etc, besides doing his out door works. But his wife hardly understands him, she works at a bank and even when she reaches home early or is at home, doesnt even prepare a cup of tea for him. He feels hurt and irritated, but yet adjusts. His wife only looks at things from her angle and never tries to understand the hardships and pain of her husband. What do you suggest to be done?
