I have a chocolate lab. Her name is Savannah. Labs are such great dogs. It seems like there must be more than 29 of us interested in this wonderful breed of dog. If you have a labrador, could you please take the time to tell us about your wonderful pet?

It's the most popular breed in North America, so I'm sure there are more than 29, but maybe not everyone thought to list this in their favorites!! I love labs! Grew up with them and they're just super sweet and fun to be around. I miss having a dog, hopefully when we have a larger home we'll be able to get a couple labs. I'd like to have a yellow and a black, but like the chocolates too. We had several litters of AKC registered lab pups when I was a teenager. Talk about fun!!!

We raised a litter of AKC registered pups also. Yes, it was a lot of fun but lots of work too. That is how we came to have Savannah. She was the first in the litter and the only chocolate and only female which is what I wanted. So I had her from birth literally. Tragically, her mother got terribly sick a couple of years later and had to be put to sleep. Since we don't know if the problem is hereditary, we can't have Savannah bred. That is o.k though. I am happy just to have her.

In the picture are 2 of my favorite people - Denny - the black lab, and his son Robbie. Denny will be 11 in July, Robbie was 8 in December. When I got Denny, he was about 1 1/2 years old, and a professional stud. He was a stud for Guiding Eyes for the Blind, an organization that breeds dogs for blind people. He was retired later due to skin problems, Robbie his son was released due to a heart defect when he was born. I went to pick pick Denny up from a date and found out about Robbie, he was 4 months old and they were concerned he would spend his life in the kennel because no one would want him. I think they played us like a fiddle cause a few days later, Robbie had a home. But we had the last laugh, cause he is still going and is a joy to have. Both the dogs are very smart and well mannered. They never growled and pretty much always play as shown in the picture.

Yeah, I think there are more than 29 fans, but just not all of them have selected to be the fans. Well, I just got my first lab more than 1 year ago, she was still 1 month old when she became part of my family. She was so cute and lovely when we first met her. At first, she's shy and quiet. But on that night itself, she started to be active and running around with us. She's very energetic and she 'destroyed' many of our furnitures and also our garden. Besides this, she's very smart too. She always figures out how to do things that she wants to do, and out of our expectation. Now, she's already more than 1 year old. She's still very playful, but of course, more obedient now. I love her expression, she's always full of expression on her face. She always shows her boring face when she's alone, she likes people to play with her. She really makes me life more colorful and cheerful everyday.

I have TJ, a yellow lab that was a rescue. He was given to someone at the age of four weeks from a "breeder" and the new owner just couldn't keep him. TJ is one and a half years old now and all Lab: lots of energy and very cheerful. We love him most of the time! I posted a picture of him as a puppy; surprised not to see more pictures of labs.

Our family dog Helga (black lab) just gave birth to seven healthy puppies. The great thing about the litter she produced was that their sized were uniform. Unlike the this batch, thi first set of litters she bore had big pups, small pups and there were in betweens. Anyhow, they're all so cute I wanna kiss them all and have them sleep beside me. haha!!

I have Shadow, a sweet boy, 5 years old- black lab. He was adopted by my fiance as a puppy. He worked VERY hard to overcome severe separation anxiety and to learn how to play. Winnie, a 4 year old female yellow lab was born in a shelter and was one of onlly 2 in a litter of 8 to survive. I chose her when she was just a few days old and visited her several days a week.. I got sick of watching her littermates die and insisted that the shelter let me take her home although she was very young.. I took her straight to the vet and she has been well since then. She was a bit more active than Shadow but has grown into a wonderful dog.

I have two labs at home: mother and doughter. They are great, always happy, and the joy of the house. I think i'll always have labradors, because they are so caring and polite. They are also great with kids!
