Following God's commands

In our won lives, although we cannot easily discern god's will, we can listen and follow him when: 1. we seek to do what God deires, not what we desire. 2. we know God's word and realize anything contrary to it, cannot be his will. 3. we live each day in and of ourselves but in jesus christ. 4. we depend on the Lord's strenght, not to our own, to complete the task he asks of us. how about any additional insights? i am trully inspired of what god's command also doing in our everyday life.
