i can tell yu about plant tissue culture, i.e. a new plant will grow from an explant (a part of plant is used for culture that has meristematic tissues, ie. actively growing, has the ability to divide eg. nodes, meristem, apical bud,) when cultured on a medium under aseptic conditions, similarly in animal culture it is hyothesized that various organs can be cultured from the stem cells, which could be used in transplantation, work is still gowing on this (e.g. liver)

A tissue culture is when a doctor takes a piece of skin (tissue) and puts it in a sterile container and cultures ( tests it by seeing what bacteria/disease may live on or in it) it usually has to "grow" ( be in the laboratory under special conditions) for a few days before they can identify the problem..It is a good test to isolate what may be a problem and then they know how to treat it. For instance if it is a certain bacteria they can give the antibiotic that is made to kill that strain of bacteria...or if it is a certain disease they can know what treatment can eliminate it.
