Cultural diversity in your crue?

One of the things that has always interested me is cultural diversity and intrapersonal relationship dynamics (friendships). Nothing sounds stupider than someone trying to prove how hip they are by saying I have black friends. Most of them are either lying or these are people that they do not "hang with" as if they were you would have seen them.
So here's my question. Do you mostly stick within your own race or is your crue multi racial?

I'm white and my closest friend is also white. I do have black friends though (not saying that to look 'cool' lol I really do) plus my boyfriends black. I have seen people do this though and find it crazy! I think it might be to do with the fact that a lot of popular music especially hiphop artists are black. Its like racism turned on its head really. I don't think its a great thing though as it means people still see races as unequal and a lot of white people are forming what I see as fake friendships with black people just to look cool.

I hang with who I like ... I'm canadian ... there is all cultures here just like in the u.s.a. ... when i was in high school my best friend was asian ... there werent many black kids where i grew up ... but if there were i would have had some as friends ... since i have travelled a lot i have met a lot of blacks ... and i love their attitude and positive strength and the fact i have always loved the music and i can "get down" and "drop it like its hot" smilin ...well .. i love to dance so if you like to dance then i'm there ... smilin .... and if a man can't dance i dont date him either .... smilin .. i guess i should get back to the question ... yea its multi-racial ... i dont see skin i see the person ...
