I work in one of the top call centers here in the Philippines, this is my first job and I got promoted immediately after 6 mos. After being promoted as a trainer for 1 1/2 years, I'm feeling bored with what I'm doing... plus internal promotions here in our company doesn't really give high increase in salary. Now that I am married and expecting a baby in 5 months it makes me think... should i move to another call center? or look for a corpotate job instead?

Call centers here in the philippines are one of engine for its economy provide many job here. Before you enter these kind of industry you should be excellent oral communication skill like English then be Customer-oriented person. Being a Representative of one Call Center is tough challenging you need a lot of patient and strong health. If you lacks these qualities you would never be prospeed this kind hectic job.

You're quitting your job because you're bored? You need to think about this a hundred times before you actually do it. If this job provides food on the table and lets you pay your bills then I suggest you stick to it. If another company offers you a higher paying job and promises you a career with good benefits then that's another story. You always have to think about your family first and not how you feel because someday you might regret it.

Transferring to a corporate job? I doubt if you would reap the same benefits that you're receiving from your call center job. From what I know you people working there do get higher pay then the corporate ones. The only difference is that you work at nights and corporate jobs are usually done in the mornings. I suggest you stick there were you are appreciated. If you get bored the more you'll get bored with corporate jobs. Moving to another call center may be good but still you have to compare your benefits that you'll receive and again you'll start from the beginning again to gain their trust and confidence in you. So will you still transfer because you are bored?

Just be practical. Don't leave your present job unless you're very sure that the company you'll be transfering to offers better compensation and career path growth.
