The main language you will here most of the time is English or Mandarin. But you also have people who speak malay, tamil, different dialects, occasionally other languages altogether

English is the most commonly spoken language. Mandarin will be the next because of the % of Chinese. Next will be Malay and then Indian. Of course there are many dialects spoken in SIngapore. Of course, there is the Singlish which is very unique to Singapore.

I presume you are speaking about Singapore as your post is in the Singapore interest. Well, they speak mandarin, hokkien, teochew, cantonese, hakka as well as english and malay. The indians there will speak tamil. Most if not all of them speak a new language called singlish.

Singapore is a melting pot of many races, but primarily the Chinese, Malays, Indians and Eurasians. Chinese make up the majority of the people. Most people speak English as learning in schools is in English. The working language is also English. Most Chinese also speak Mandarin and their local dialects, while the Malays and Indians speak their own languages too such as Malay, Tamil, etc. Many Singaporeans also speak a queer brand of English called Singlish. So generally if you speak English, you can easily communicate with the locals while in Singapore.
