I do. I avoid responding to topics about religion and politics as I don't know very much about them. I am also a bit shy about discussing s*ex in a public forum. How about you?

i dont have a problem with discussing the s word but i think if i write the word the post may be censored and then i would lose out. i dont have any interest in politics and find these posts boring . i wouldnt know what i was talking about so better to shut up lol.

I too have often found that I couldn't post words like s*ex and g*ay, yet the heading for the topic would have these words in it. I also have no interest in politics so thankfully there are lots of other discussions to respond to. Thanks again for responding.

I don't respond to s ex either and I don't respond to girlfriend/boyfriend relationship problems because I think that only the two people in the relationship can resolve their problems. Of couse also inane ones like..whats your favorite color, how old are you, bashing fat people, skinny people, ect.

I couldn't agree more. I think there are far too many of these topics and I wouldn't be the best person to give advice to people, especially when I don't know them. Good answer. Thank you.

Yes I do especially when I feel unconfortable with the topic like racism and gayish one. I simply respond on topic that I know I have knowledge with. Its easy to responds when I'm confident that what I say is true and helful or informative. Everyone has its own forte in different aspect of life so do I. Its hard to partake discussion that I feel like being allienated. But sometimes I try to hook on it just for the sake of curiousity and digging some knowledge that I don't know upfront.

Thank you abednego7. Although I may not have the knowledge to respond to a topic I do read them in order to enlighten myself. That is one of the reasons that I like it here on myLot as I learning all the time I am here. I appreciate your response.

Yes there are some topics I don't like to respond to, including the topics you mention, except politics, I don't mind mentioning some of that, I will also reply to some religious topics as well, but only some. My politics haven't changed much since I was at school - Nationalist Scot (but no longer Scottish Nationalist), pretty close to centre between Socialist & Capitalist, I can see good & bad points about both. I also don't like to answer personal topics either, I think personal things should stay personal. I don't pretend to know everything about everything, so looking at topics that I know nothing about can help educate me, even if I don't know enough about the subject to add a response. One thing that really annoys me is if someone is not telling the truth, I recently responded to two seperate people, only to find that in other posts, they stated things that were completely opposite to their original post, one of them was married in one post, and single in another, if I'd realised that at the time, I would not have wasted time responding in the first place.

You are certainly very brave. I wouldn't dream ofs getting involved in a political discussion. I like to read all the topics and I have learned quite a bit since joining myLot. As regard people not telling the truth, I have only just realised that. Some are so obvious...like the 86 year old lady wanting to know how soon she should intoduce solid food to her son. In another post she was saying that her girlfriend was having an affair in another state. Now I am starting to check profiles before I answer topics. Thanks for your nice detailed response.

I do avoid responding to some discussions. I never comment on something that is against my values. I am amazed at the things people will talk about on here. LOL Yes I do not talk about _ _ _ either. That subject should stay in the privacy of the bedroom

Very sensible. That is exactly how I feel. I never discuss my private life in public. I don't think people are serious about some of the topics, I think they are posted becuase they receive so many responses, so who can blame them. Thanks for responding.

Yes I do. If I know nothing about it I will not respond .Also I think from now on I will stay away from topics that talk about God a lot . It seems to be a little to heated at times.I said to my husband yesterday I have made a very innocent statement here and it was truned completely around by someone else, and I did not want to get into a big debate over it.

Oh, I am sorry that happened to you. I answered one on abortion and I nearly had my head taken off. The discussion got very heated and I just backed down. I can't understand why some people can't just give an opinion and agree to differ. Thanks a million for responding. You have earned yourself a plus rating.

Ah yes I can see that you are just a wee bit older. Maybe then it is the way we were reared. We learned from a young age that there were certain subjects that should not be discussed beyond the bedroom doors. Nice to meet you too weemam and thanks for your comment.

I try to stay away from discussions that make me think, mostly because I don't like to do much of it, hehe. I stay away from religion and politics as they are not my favorite topics. I like the s*ex stuff because it's fun, sports, cars, relationships.

I try to avoid the really personal stuff. I've learned the hard way that politics and religion are touchy areas. I find it hard to stay away from the political stuff but I'm trying.

I too found out the hard way that religion was a touchy subject. From reading the topics on politics, these too can be quite touchy and like you I don't like to discuss any very personal stuff. Thanks so much for responding.

I don't usully respond to topics which I don't know or have enough experienced. I also avoid those common or very ordinary and nonsense topic (sorry for my words). But I do respond to topics that I'm very familiar with, knowledge and experience wise, where I can give a good and helpful advise (hope so).

No offence taken habichuelo. I would love to post more topics but I can never think of one that hasn't been already discussed. I am happy to just respond to other peoples topics for the moment but I will try to post some more before the weekend. Thanks for the response and I am giving you another plus.

If the s*ex theme is put to ridicule, yes I ll skip to another post. But I am not shy to discuss s*ex in public. Why should I? I don't find it difficult to talk about religion. I do have my beliefs which I do strongly believe in. However when I give my contribution about religion I try to be diplomatic and try not to offend people of other religion.

That's a very sensible attitude ronaldinu. I suppose I could have phrased my post a little differently but when I mentioned s*ex, I had read some posts here which made it seem like a dirty word. As for religion, I don't think I am versed enough to get into a debate about it. Thanks for responding and enlightening me.
