Recently Harvard named its first female president. And it made news. Why is it that in this day and age there are still institutions, societies and cultures that are closed to women? Why do women still have to struggle to break into them? Haven't they already proved themselves?

Do a sociological search for 'the glass ceiling'. Everything you ever wanted to know about the injustices of gender is spelled out for you. Its a very long, very arduous response.

I understand the 'glass ceiling' problem, was just commenting on the fact that in spite of all the 'progress' that seems to have been made, sometimes you feel that women are still at ground level.

Now,though women have came to the top in many scopes, the world is still in men's control because of the historical causation. I hope it can be changed day after day. It's the demand of societal development.
