From Google to Googe

From Google to Googe on Valentines Day - This is Google's logo on Valentine's Day. It looks reads Googe to me rather than Google.

Has anyone noticed that Google has become Googe on Valentine's day? Does the chocolate dipped strawberry look like the G and L are merged together, with the L being the stem of the strawberry, or did Google just forget the L?

Maybe I live under a rock, but I thought of that the first time I saw their Valentine's Day graphic, yet this is the first time I have seen anyone else mention it. Whereas I can see how the letters are joined, it's really a bit of a stretch, isn't it? If THAT many people saw it as "Googe" it seems to me it wasn't a very good design.

It is a cute concept, but I think someone came up with the idea - but lost the plot in execution.
