The PODs are here,and it seems resistance is futile.these are not iPods,Apple's popular MP3 player.these are print-on-demand books,essentially self-published books.Unlike previous self-published books,PODs are digitally printed ,which makes them cheaper and quicker to produce.Since 1997,print-on-demand companies have taken over a big chunk of the book industry.

I can see this as the next wave in the future of book publishing. I have just joined a POD company called Createspace and the service so far has been great. I will be sure to let everyone know how it all comes to pass. I haven't gotten my book printed just yet but it's coming. Wooohoo!!
