When my son was first born, my mom and dad came to the hospital to see him and asked if he had picked out his college yet. LOL. Then seven weeks later we were visiting my parents and I took the baby to church where they had ceiling fans. Baby looked up wide eyed and really focussed on those fans. My mom said, "He already knows how it works." At fourteen, my son said, "Mom, you need a ceiling fan in here." We went to the store and bought one and he said he would install it. I could hardly believe he was going to be able to, but he did it in a couple hours, lights, fan, and all. I guess he really did have it figured out at seven weeks old!!

I always found it fascinating when my babies were that little and could really focus on things like fans and lights and stuff. Maybe he really did figure it out back then, who knows. Congrats on having such a handy kid. Mine are too little yet to know how handy they will be. But my dad is handy so I'm hoping it in the genes. Take care!

The worst part of the whole deal is I am not really allowed by him to ask him to fix something for me. If I do, he rolls his eyes like teens do. If he decides on his own to fix it, we are ok with that.

o i guess at that age is bit confusing on what course he going to take in college but probably he will decide on things he really want to do if thats the case you might ask him on what he likes and don't ever command him to take this or rather say you take this course b'coz i like it for you something like that dont ever do that let them decide for himself all you need to do is support him.

I totally agree with you. They need to make up their own minds.

Actually, he's going to be 16 in a few days. He is thinking about being an architect.

A proud parent--- It's great to hear from other proud parents... I'm not sure what my daughter will choose to do when she grows up (She's 10) But I'm sure she will be brilliant at it. I guess your son did have it figured out a 7 weeks.. or maybe he had studied them while growing up. Keep on believing in him and he will conquer great things.. What kind of architect?

I'm not sure what kind of architect, time will tell. Who knows, maybe he will design his first building seven weeks from now.
