Discrimination can come in the most unnoticable forms ... even online!

I use Yahoo services as my mainstay on the computer and internet. Have been for over 20 years. Recently I became more aware of something that I had pushed aside last year, but it was blaring this year. 'American Greetings' is Yahoo's choice for greeting card services. They hit all the holidays - even ones I've never heard from - LOL! When the Muslim Holidays = Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha come along, they generally have beautiful cards which I am in the habit of sending all over the world. Early last year's holidays came and went - no Eids or Ramadan cards were displayed. I was ill last year and thought perhaps I was reading the site incorrectly, so I went to another free card site instead. Then came this year and it was obvious it wasnt a mistake, the whole Muslim religious calendar was deleted from the site and so were the e-cards. Hallmark and many others still had them online, but "American" Greetings' did not? What is your opinion? Also, have you seen any discrimination online that would happen to be part of your heritage, race, religion or country of origin?

Sounds like American Greetings is missing out a large (and growing) market, to be blunt and commercial about it. If theydid Muslim holiday cards before, it makes me wonder if the company received complaints from bigots who pressured them to drop the cards. If AG is a publicly traded company (or part of one) these folks may have made noises about protesting the company, selling its shares, etc. If I were you I'd write to AB and to Yahoo and tell them what you just told us--you're a loyal and longtime Yahoo user and have bought AG cards before, and now Yahoo is losing your business because their exclusive card supplier has eliminated your cards. Mention to them how many Muslims there are in the U.S., that might also get their attention. Some of the drunk-Irish St. Patrick's Day cards have been pretty insulting, but I'm seeing less of them in recent years.

That is to bad. You ought to send them an e-mail and ask them why. Maybe they will start offering them again if you and others complain.
