Updating Bios problem...

I was updating the BIOS from emachines. That worked without a problem. Rebooted, and had an HP logo on my screen. I pressed F1 and F10, then the screen went black. All that was showing was a blinking "-" in the top left hand corner of screen. I can control-alt-del to get into the BIOS. The machine is running Windows XP... emachines wants it for about three weeks roundtrip to fix it. I'm going to keep it. Any ideas how I can fix it?

IF you can enter your bios configuration just set it to default. if your computer blank you have to do reset manually by change the jumper to reset your bios. look on your motherboard book how to do hardware reset your bios back to default.

You should try to reset the bios using some jumper settings on the mother board. Or else simply take out the cmos battery fo about 10secs and then put it back. Another way of resetting the bios is to hold on the "insert" key on the keyboard and start the system..Hope this works..
