I know it is always to be confident in yourself. But when does confidence turn into cockyness. No one likes a show off. But if you are good at something, I mean really damn good! should you yell it from the rooftop ?

Always remember to be humble. Remember, that no matter how good you are about one thing, there is always someone out there who is better than you. Bear in mind, too, that no matter how bad you are about one thing, there is always someone out there who is less informed than you on this one. These thoughts shall always make you humble and confident enough in whatever undertaking you may have. Just show people how good you are about your line of expertise when it is called for. Never ever shout from the rooftop, no one will ever take you kindly for that. Just be humble.

Humble could be my middle name. Its not me as much as it other people telling me I should be more confident. Telling me I should put myself out there more. I have always been the kind of person that gets gratification from someone else telling me "wow that was a good job you just did" or "You did great". My favorite.. Curtis.. Your the man !! But I will take this advise in enjoy it from the inside!

if you are really good at something, the best way to show the world is to share what you are good at. only the ego needs a pat on the back, the heart and soul already knows!!

Your right. Thats why I really wont brag about it at all. I mostly get it from other people that I should be more confident. But I sill get all warm inside when someone else pats me on the back for a job well done!

i think you can always tell in the tone of someones voice whether they are showing off, or just proud of their achievement. some have the natural reaction to just shout about what they have achieved. they're not necissarily cocky, they just don't think like maybe others do. i think it's very important to be confident and apreciate your own success. but we also have to know that maybe not everyone is interested, and when and who you can talk to about what you have done.
