I wish there were more fastfood restaurants that offer healthy fastfood. Not just hamburgers , kebabs or pizzas. But food that are good for us. Why is it so hard to make healthy fastfood? At least here in Norway you do not find such a thing.

I agree. The healthy offerings are very limited. At Wendy's, all I can get is a side salad and plain baked potato. There are restaurants that don't even have healthy salads. I wish they all offered veggie burgers. Maybe if more people refused to eat the crap, they'd be forced to offer healthy options.

Actually, we have the same problem too. Here in our country, most of the fast food chains here are serving burgers, fries & pizzas. There every where, like in one city, they have about twenty store or more. It's really hard to find a fast food restaurant that serves healthy food, because most of the healthy foods needs a lot of preparation and they should be serve fresh. Usually they cannot be stuck in the freezer for so long because they loose the freshness and lessens the good amount of vitamins and minerals of it. So you really need to disposed all of them at the end of the day. Normally, burgers and fries are easy to prepare and cook that is why a lot of entrepreneurs prepare to have this business because of the fast turnover and turn around of income it generates. So most of the health buff like us, usually end up eating at home and prepare out own healthy meals.

Miriel- here in America we are finding that some of the well known fast food places like Mc DOnalds, Taco Bell, Burger King are now offering healthier meals. Their ploy is for the young kids but MOm's have to pay for it so they figure they better start making some figure friends choices available to them as well. Many of them offer Salads, and broiled skinless chicken sandwiches, or even in the salad, yogurts, low fat milk ext. I believe I also recently heard they have to omit all TRANS FATS now effective next year or some time in the near future. SO I am sure your fast foods places will follow, write to the local newspaper and request it. Check online menu's for the of the ones here and forward it to their Corporate offices requesting better/healthier choices. YOU will be the hero if you can get them to consider them at least. I am sure with the overall concern for obese children etc there are more and more places that will be turning to healthier choices. GOOD LUCK.

I love both "fast" foods and healthy foods, but what I would really like is the option of a HEALTHIER version of pizzas, hamburgers & kebabs. Something that still tastes good but is lower in fat. We have juice bars too - but you would be surprised at how many calories are in those supposed "super juices".

i think the only reason it is hard to have more fast food resturants that offer healthy fast food, first of all it is hard to get healthy food fast, second of all alot of people doesnt like the taste of healthier food for some reason, that is why you dont see too many of them

they offer these things mainly because they are easy to prepare and lots of people really fancy these foods. if the fastfood will offer only vegetables and fruits they will be bankrupt easily.

Well here in the US McDonalds does try to serve healthy foods. They serve a variety of fresh salads and they are really good. Then we have subway and they are good for you and supposed to be good but I have never eaten there. I have been wanting to try a subway sandwich. There are plenty of fast food places here that try to serve healthy food. :)
