I do and I love it! You would think my husband would be overjoyed at the amount of money I have saved by shopping in 2nd stores. He think it makes us poor. LOL I tell him no, shopping for pricey things in the mall makes us poor. It's not like I don't shop in regular stores. I just don't see the point in spending $20 or more for jeans that my daughters are going to bleach, cut up or redesign. I hate spending good money on an outfit for my 2 year old only to have Dad take her outside and roll around in the yard. I buy new clothes for outings and used clothing for playing outside and roaming around the house. I always buy my husbands work pants there too!

I love second hand stores . You can often find a lot of really nice things in them if you are willing to take the time and look . I have seen getting things that look brand new and getting it for such a cheap price . With a big family we can't always get things brand new but sometimes it doesn't really matter when you look at what you are getting and for the price you are paying . I love to shop , so I don't mind spending the time at all looking through everything to pick out what I figure we will like the best . And my husband likes this too as that way I haven't spent a fortune in one of the stores lol .

Occasionally I do, but I find better deals at yard sales. This time of year though we don't have many or any yard sales because it's too cold so that is a good alternative.

I absolutely agree! In the summer months yard sales are the way to go. I'm looking forward to the Spring when yard sale season starts up again. Cheers!

I shop at the resale shops! They are great for clothes and a lot of other things such as books, albums and tapes if you collect them, toys, even the occasional vcr and movies and cds or tv. Children grow out of clothes and shoes so fast it just makes sense! Unless you have plenty of money I guess. My hubby disagrees somewhat......he says don't bring home any more junk!!

I love the thrift store! Especially for books both for me and the children. I've got 2 shelves on my bookcase that are all encyclopidiac or informational books that will be so useful when my kids are in later grades in school. And ours has a bag day once a month or so when you can get all you can fit in a grocery store bag for $5. I get the kids tons of play clothes and grubbies for when we head to the river.

We have several secondhand shops in our town and yes, I do occasionally shop there. If the kids are looking for something simple like a pair of sports shorts, then why pay $15 when I can get a pair for $2? Also, the coffee pot to my coffee maker broke. Now we're not coffee drinkers in this house but I have it on hand for company. I went to a second hand store and got a couple for .50c each. I bought more than one because I couldn't tell whether they would fit my machine. I use the bigger one for my support group meetings for brewing tea. Books are great to get at thrift stores. The Salvation Army store sells them for .10c each.

We have a Salvation Army and a Goodwill in my town, and I don't frequent them much, but it's more of a time thing. I've not went to find clothes yet, but I will dash in and out occasionally to find some other things. Our office needed a nicer looking desk lamp for a table in the hall, and I found one for five bucks that looks expensive. It's not quite my taste for home but it works well here. I also found, a few months ago, a milk glass lamp (one of the older ones that are becoming antiques) for a couple bucks and I know places that sell antiques and other decor, and it would have cost me fifty or more! It is now my bedside lamp. I had one milk glass but wanted another, so I have one on each side of the bed. They don't "match" perfectly, but that's part of the charm!

I love second hand shops. I can buy things for less that look just as good as things I pay full price for. That leaves me with more money to spend on my hobbies, like fishing.

I love shopping at resale shops. I enjoy finding the bargains and not having to pay the "brand new price." My husband recently found a pair of Bauer Fitness Skates for $1.00. Nothing was wrong with them. I found some hair curling heat sticks for $1.00 and I have been using them every week. They work great. We are on a very limited income and resale shops are the way to go on a lot of items. I even found a step-walker for $10.00. Beware of pawn shops--some charge the price of a new item. I try to price things at Walmart or other stores before I buy at a resale shop. We found wonderful leather coats with lamb wool and mine had a synthetic lamb's wool. Because of our income, they did not cost us anything. My husband's was from the Sears Leather Shop. I am very GRATEFUL for resale shops. I would not have many of the items that I currently own. When I was able to work, I still shopped at resale shops.

I got a bundt pan and two 9 x 9 square inch pans, some binders, plus some clothes at Value Village. If you're lucky you can find some name brand stuff there and it helps if you have a red hair or blonde hair complexion, or are a regular size. There's not much choice for the darker haired, fairer complexioned large sized brunette.

I love shopping at second hand stores like Goodwill and small thrift shops. Not only is the money being put to good use, you can find some sweet stuff there as well. Sometimes I feel guilty though because I know I have the money to be shopping at other stores while some people only have the money to be shopping at second hand stores, but then I just take a bunch of my old clothes to that store and feel better again.

YES, YES AND YES! These are my favourite form of shopping! I barely ever go to the mall, Walmart once in awhile and for everything else, a resale shop!! Why would anyone pay $30 for a new pair of jeans, when you can get a perfectly great pair for $6? My daughter is 13 and a fashionista, we go there all the time and she usually finds clothing that she loves and that fits in with trends (oh, we also go to an outlet mall once in awhile)... While some would call me cheap...I would call myself thrifty!

Oh no you are not cheap you are reasonable, and using your head....I have a granddaughter that bought a wedding dress there, and you know how expensive those are for 20.00 ,AND ALL she did was have it cleaned....The other granddaughter (her sister) spent $800.00 for hers new and it isn't any better than the $20.00 one,so to me they saved and was able to buy things for their new house.

I adore 2nd hand shops! First of all, the bargains: I've found barely worn shoes for $2 or $3, and clothes for about the same. But the real advantage to me is that I like shopping with the people that shop at thrift shops! I think they are much more down to earth! I hate going to the mall or big department stores! I do it when I have to, but mostly I shop on-line. 2nd hand stores are so much fun!! You never know what treasures you will un-earth!

I do shop at second hand stores, mostly for books and other bric-a-brac. I do find amazing deals and am often surprised to find rare titles for only a few dollars. Once I bought an Indonesian statuette for $2.00 bux, after doing some research online, I found very similar items selling for over $100.00 US. Cheers!

I haven't shopped second hand in a while but used to go often. I've found furniture, home decor, and clothing all new with tags still attached for a fraction of what it would cost in a regular store.

I surely do! Super great deals. My best one was a pair of jeans for myself, got them for 50 cents, tags still on, never been worn. Left there and went to Meijers and saw the same exact pair for $39.95

Yes, I do shop at some thrift stores here in our city for some second hand clothes. We call it here "ukay-ukay". It is really practical doing it since the cost of living nowadays is really soaring high.
