Here's what I've done with my children to kill a whole day and have a great time :
We get up and go downtown and pick up a cheap instant camera for each of us. We go for a walk and just take pictures of whatever catches our fancy. We usually pack a lunch of some sort and make it a picnic out. When we are done lunch and out of film, we go back downtown and drop the film off at the one-hour photo place. While we are waiting for it to be developed we go to the dollar store and pick up stickers and doodads (lol.. i don't know what the name for them are but we have lots of little things in our craft section to add to scrapbook pages). And we either grab a sheet of posterboard each or go to the dollar store and get those books they make for babys that are the hard board and only 5 or 6 pages. Then we go pick up our film and come home to scrapbook with the pictures we took. Every one has a great time and you've got a cute momento of your day out. The kids love to take them to school for show and tell.

Now you know that this is going to get you "mother of the year award" at your house now don't you! That is so awesome! What a perfect idea. I wish I had a 1 hour photo place. My kids would really be into something like that as they're always begging me to let them scrapbook with me. lol...I don't have a lot of supplies so they usually don't scrap with me. But that is a great idea...and hey it could be a great way to host a birthday party too!

What a wonderful way to spend the day with your family. To get to spend a fun day together and perserve the memory is just fun. Kudos to you for coming up with such a great idea!

That's a really neat way to spend the day. I used to buy my kids the disposal cameras every now and than. I never thought of the scrap booking idea. I would just give them a photo album and that was that. I love your idea so much better. Maybe I can do it with my daughter when she is a little bit older. My other children are beyond Mommy and Me time.

I really like this idea, too. And I like the thought of doing it for a birthday party. I think I'd have to wait 'till my boys are a bit older, but I'm going to file it away in my mind as a plan for another day.
