could this be a form of claustrophobia?

I don't have a problem with being in closed spaces, rooms with no window, dark rooms or even caves. However if I am restrained in some way, if I can move even if it's just my arms or legs, i get really anxious and feel like I can't breathe. I know this had to be psychological, but knowing it doesn't make any difference. I can fight it but not for long.
Has anyone experienced this?

i believe you are referring to Merinthophobia - being bound.
im the same way, but i dont think its a full blown phobia for me at least. i do freak out if someone holds my fingers together, arms, etc. or that horror filled few seconds when you wake up completly wrapped up in your blankets!! ugh i hate that!
you would think that knowing that "its all in your head" WOULD make a difference, but it never seems to!

I didn't know there was a name for it either, but I have the same problem with having the blankets tight around me. I wake up in a panic when this happens and the blankets go flying.
I had the same problem after my knee injury. They wanted to do an MRI on my knee and they placed my leg in an immobilizer so that I couldn't move it during the MRI.
I was ready to scream before they finally finished. It was almost impossible to stay put. They had to keep talking to me keep me calm. They had to redo one part of the MRI because despite the immobilizer I managed to move my knee because I was having such a hard time staying still.

i'm the same way. i thought it was claustrophobia but i really dont know since i am fine in a tanning bed or other spaces like that. if i feel i am restrained i fight to get out and it makes me really nervous and it's kind of scary. i also get where i can't breath well.
