During fog, vehicles move very slowly as the visibility is very less isn't it? you all might have noticed it in some places where fog exists and as you know fog is nothing but tiny drops of water floating in air and have you ever wondered vehicles moving out with yellow lights and not white lights at this time?

Fog is nothing but a collection of water drops that float on air and these water drops scatter white light and creates an obstruction for visibility for vehicles and in yellow light , wavelegths can be incraesed which reduces scattering and increases the visibility.
Thanks for your response

Point, that the yellow color is more visible to oncoming traffic is true, but irrelevent. The point of fog lights is to allow the car's driver to see better, not to be seen better -- if you wanted to be seen better, a flashing strobe would be more effective, but you don't see much of
those in the fog light business.

Have you been to any place covered by fog anytime? what was your experience there? let me tell you that i have been into places where it is horrible to drive in such conditions and our white light won't be effcetive at all as there won't be anything visible if we goon with white light and with yellow light, we can see better than white lights.....

That's "Fog lights". Well I have not even seen but also have driven in such conditions. Its very usual here. Once I went into the farms off the road and after sometime I realized where I was. That was really funny experience for me. Everybody asking me thatwhy the other cars were going in other direction. One should be really careful while driving in such conditions. Its really dangerous.

Oh..you haven't been in cold places i believe. In some places during cold season, fogs will be covered and roads are also not visible and vehicles will really have a tough time around moving very slowly and putting on thier yellow lights and it seems that you have weird experience in driving in even in normal conditions isn't it?
Thanks for responding
