In case of property disputes (my uncle has one) it takes 5 to 8 years for judgement. Most of the time, the parties involved, they themselves do not appear for the case and hence because of adjournment, it takes a long time.

My father has put a public interest litigation in a court 15 years ago and still it is not settled. This case is to benefit the government whose land, a person wanted to grab it. Instead of taking a decision and delivering justice, 15 years the case is getting adjourned.
