“A cup in hand, you know it’s worth your while. A cup in hand, let’s sit and stay for a while… Let’s meet, let’s talk… One moment…”
This is the lyrics (or something like this) of one commercial I usually see on TV. I just remembered this when I took a break from work, walk into the pantry and made myself a cup of hot coffee (with the brand in this commercial). And up to now the song is echoing in my mind and I am actually singing with it in my mind. Lol! A cup of coffee really helps me to get relax and keep myself into good mood while at work. With all the pressures and problems arising now in the office, I really needed something to keep me calm and at ease while doing the job. Merienda time, as we call it in the Philippines, is one of the best times office personnel wait to bond with each other. A little “How’s it going?” or a simple “Kamusta?” (“How are you?” in english.) is enough to at least realize, some people out there, whether a friend or not, is kind enough to worry and check if we are still okay at work or not. A short coffee break, to most of us, is a treasure. A treasure people like us keeps and live with everyday. For a cup of coffee can actually become a “super-glue” that bonds a strong friendship. With every sip, every gulp, the friendship bond keeps on getting stronger and stronger. For a cup of coffee is equal to over a million words of sharing and stories. With just one cup, it feels good to be alive…
You? When was the last time to took a cup of coffee with your officemates, friends or loved ones?
