mine was a nancy drew book ("The Spider Sapphire Mystery"), a gift from an aunt. until then (i was 10 years old), i had no idea that i was her favorite heheh. it was a great beginning though, because after that my love affair with books began. i think that book is still lying somewhere in our attic.

The first book I remember reading was this really thick and large book filled with stories and pictures my parents used to read from us before we went to sleep at night. I've forgotten the title of the book, but I can still clearly remember quite a few of the drawings and stories in it, which weren't conventional in any way. Most probably because I pored over it hundreds of times when I was a kid, hehe. I guess that was one of the books that really fueled my love for reading, now that I think about it. I used to always think it was that first Sweet Valley Kids book I bought, hehe. But yeah, either way, I guess my love for books transpired really early on still. :)

i think i know what you mean. isn't it odd that we can remember some odd, trivial details about a significant event and yet forget the really important ones like title of a well-loved book from childhood? up to now, i have vivid memories of like a colorful page from a nursery rhyme book, and yet and i can't remember what it was.

Yeah, Nancy Drew books are good for girls. There are a lot others more you'll find truly interesting which runs along this spying and agent-police work sort of novels. You will enjoy them all. Later still, you will also find romance books to be nice ones for reading. As you move on to the more serious types of novels, you will find yourself addicted to reading all the more. Happy reading.

The first book that i've ever read was my ABC book back in pre-school. When i learned how to connect letters and form words and ultimately achieved the gift of reading from my mom and teachers...i read every book that lands on my hand excluding off color books that portray (in words and in graphics) humanity's baser attributes..in fact, i have read the whole bible back to back, once, and took me a long time to finish.

probably grimm's fairy tales way back in preschool because I had some sort of a teaching coach back then and I was required to read books aloud.
