Do you treat people differently, example some with more respect and others less? What factors play a roll in your way of treating people?

On initial meeting I tend to treat everyone the same, Respect is something that (IMO)you need to earn, it isn 't a right. As I get to know people, the way I treat them obviously changes, as some people you can trust, others you know you can't. Initially it would make no difference to me, whether I was deling with the cleaner or the managing director, I often find that the cleaner earns my respect quicker than the MD, often people in authority think that you should show them respect because of their status, I do not hold to this and will happily tell these people that they have to earn my respect.
