Refrigerators are used to preserve many things like milk, food etc isn't it? so that it won't get spoiled...but, why it is not advisable to keep a banana in the refrigerator? what will happen if banana is also kept in the refrigerator? is there any particular reason for not storing banana's in refrigerators? anyone here?

bananas shouldn't be kept in the refrigerator because bananas ripe easily. if you put them in the refrigerator the coldness of the refrigerator will actually hasten the banana to ripe.It wont take long before the bananas will actually become brown to dark in color when placed inside the refrigerator for long.

Below 8 degrees Celsius the fruit will decay from the inside. These fruits will not ripen but will turn black in the refrigerator.

Yes, definitely it will decay and banana's are not to be eaten from fridge and in time it will turn black isn't it? but, keeping in fridge it will retain it's original color for some day's and then later it will change it's color to black.... Anyway's, thanks for responding

I keep my bananas in the fridge for two reason: they last longer before going brown. And the cold hardens them up which stops my 2 year old getting in to an awful mess with them! I guess the reason for not putting them in the fridge is just to stop them being harder than they are meant to be. But there is no harm in it as my kids have been eating them from the fridge for years!

Putting in regrigerator doesn't make the banana black ..instead it might preserve it's color and hardens it and so doesn't taste good also and they say it is even bad for health. So, banana's are not to be kept in fridge and use it later i believe..... Anyway's, thanks for responding
