My ex-husband is from bath township in ohio, and when all the breaking news came across t.v. about jeffrey Dahmer, he was floored. He went to school with the guy, same class. He sayed they had b-day parties together and everything. When we lived there he showed me where he use to live and where dahmer use to live, I could not even imagine what it would feel like, they showed a class picture on t.v. at that time and sure enough my ex-husband was in it. What does it feel like to know someone who could do such horrid things? And did they act that way when you knew them?

Yes, I have known two. One is serving life without parole. The other was found to be criminally insane and was released after something like 15 years. Then he started commiting burglaries and so is back in jail, probably for life. Believe it or not, there is a benefit from having known people like these. The experience innoculates you from believing liberal tripe regarding why criminals do what they do. My experience knowing these murderers convinces me that the notion we should feel sorry for these folks based on their lack of opportunity and poor upbringing is dangerous nonsense. People murder because they are evil and/or mean, or they just can't control themselves. Either way they need to be locked up. Feeling sorry for them for wrong headed simple minded reasons endangers society and prevents effective procedures for dealing with these people. When someone commits murder, we should lock him/her up for life or execute them.

woah that must of been a real big shock for your husband!! i cant imagine what it would be like if someone i knew was a murderer. but that is quite an interesting thought about thinking about what they were like when they were younger and whether or not they seemed "the type". thats if there even is a stereotypical murderer!
