What do you think is the nicest/most special gift you have given anyone? Did they like it or didn't think it was all that great? How did you react to their reaction? I found a box of old film reels from back when people made home movies. I took it to a professional and had them all put into chronological order and on a tape for my daughter. I was thrilled with how it turned out and was really excited waiting to give it to her on her 25th birthday. All she said was that's neat, I was sure she would want to look at it immediately as it spanned the first 10 years of her life!!

I was out of work at the time- and my mother had found material that had the miami dolphin symbol on it- well I decided since i couldn't afford to buy, my then boyfriend now husband, a gift that I would make him one- took me two weeks but I made him a 7 ft by 7 ft comforter for his king size bed- done all in miami dolphin colors with the material my mother bought in the middle. He was thrilled and loved it so much - for two years he refused to put it on his bed - I told him I made it for you to use - not pack it away. Eventually it had to be thrown out cause it was falling apart- but i will never forget the look on his fsce when he opened it and realized I made it for him!

thanks for the BR- that memory makes me smile- my dad was there when my husband opened it- (my dad had watched me work on that thing for 2 weeks and never said it but the look on his face too when my husband opened it and smiled said it all)- I knew my dad was proud of what i had made. Thanks for reminding me of that memory.

the nicest gift i ever gave someone would have to be a special thing i made for my ex. after my ex and i broke up we remained friends for the sake of our daughter we had together. he moved out and didn't have a lot of pictures of our baby kierrah, because i had a digital camera and all my pictures were on my computer. fathers day was comming up so i made a photo album full of all the pictures i had of him and his daughter together and gave it to my daughter to give to him for valentines day. he was so happy to get it.

I think the nicest gift a person csn give to anyone is honesty.I recently gave to a very special friend of mine a nice, idiotic confession. The fact is she wanted to have something made by me on a special occassion but somehow i didn't manage to make it.I thought of making some excuse but finally I told her the truth that I couldn't make it and she just cried to hear my confession.....

friend gift is symbol of love or gratitude you show toward somebody.so it is not neccesary that it has to be very costly or attractive.the real thing is the deed behind that gift. even a smile will work if it is with full respect and love as compared to how much costly gift u give. gift depends upon the relation you r having with the person you addressing and so it varies according to that. what u feel is a good gift may not be that much important for the other one.

I do always feel that it is probably one in a million that a special gift could be given.. Me and my wife are one such chosen couple who have gifted ourselves a very rare gift. Our Marriage is a Love Marriage and our first kid was born on the Valentine's day. It is the perfect gift I gave my beloved and what my beloved gave her lover.

For the past years, i do gave gifts to my friends and as well relatives which i personally made. But i think the nicest thing i gave to my friends last christmas of 2006 was a cake which i bake for all nine of them with different flavors and designs. I do love cooking and as well baking so i made the cakes which they love. thats the best gifts i gave so far because i work hard for it and its very personal. when they received the gifts they were very happy because they knew how much effort i gave into that, just by baking it. they also love the packaging and as well the taste. they even asked me to make another cake for them to give to their love ones but of course they paid for it.

Years ago a gave my mother a mother's ring with all of her kids and grandkids (at that time)stones put into it. I bought it for her because when I was a kid she had sold her mothers ring that she had for food, and she talked about it on occasion that she really wished she had it back. So in the early 90's for Christmas I ordered one for her and gave it to her Christmas morning. It was very emotional for everyone. It was nice to give something to her that made her so happy. It's a memory that I will never forget and it made me feel good that I was able to bring her so much happiness from a simple little ring. Good luck here at mylot!

can't remember what's the nicest thing i gave anyone, but there was a rather memorable time... when i was really little, i think i was about 8 years old at the time when i absolutely worshiped this girl who was a year older than me. she was one of those really cool rich girls that had the prettiest accessories, the most stylish clothes... you get my point. anyways, i really wanted to giver her something special for her birthday and i remembered that she liked pekko (this duck character that i think came from sanrio). so i got her this beautiful pekko jewelry box for about ten bucks. at that time, my pocket money was about 20 cents a week, so it seemed a big deal at the time. so, came the day of the birthday and i was so happy at being able to give my idol such a pretty present. she took it, smiled and said thanks. but before i even left, she turned to her friend and asked if she wanted the present because 'pekko is sooooo yesterday'. needless to say, she stopped being my idol, and it took me a long time before i started giving presents to anyone again.

Several years ago I had a very best girlfriend and she was dying with cancer. Her husband quit working to help at home with the two girls and of course preparing everyone for the final goodbye. All they had to live on was welfare and had to beg to get help with cancer medication. We're from Canada but they were in B.C. and I'm in Saskatchewan. I worked real hard to scratch up money to go back home and to see her, but when I found out they were struggling so bad, I spoke to my friend and explained I didn't think I felt strong enough to go out there right then. She forgave me and I sent them a cheque for groceries. I never could go then but the money was a huge help and I felt I'd made the right dicission. Take Care... Grandmaof2

Well, it wasn't a typical gift, but when our dear friends had their second baby, DH and I took a couple days off work and went to visit them. They are about 300 miles away from us and we only see them a couple times a year. We got there when the baby was 1 day old. Yep, we had their permission to be there! :-) We cooked a bunch of meals for them, did their laundry, took care of their 2 yr old, and basically did whatever they needed us to do. Their family thought they were nuts for having us there, but they were so grateful. We took care of everything for them, and even though we stayed in their little apartment with them, we didn't cause any problems. Even brought our own air mattress and bedding so they wouldn't have to clean up after us. That was the only time we were able to do that. My Skids were with their mom, we had time off from work, and someone to watch our dogs. It was very gratifying to be able to help them out. We just couldn't believe that neither of their own families (large!) brought over a single meal for them!

Wow the nicest thing I have GIVEN someone or been given? One of my favorite gifts I got was a bear on valentines day last year. My best friend DIDNT tell me it was she who sent it. I really didnt know it was her :)) it was cool! One of my gifts I loved giving someone was my sister. I gave her a giant stuffed animal she really loved. You see, I LOVE to give gifts not always loved by others. However, she expressed wanting this so I was happy she loved it!

That is an awesome gift! WHen i was with my ex, for our anniversar, i took every poem i had ever written about him and put it in a book for him. He didn't like it as much as i would have hoped, though.

I have a friend who loves Michael Jackson so much, she wanted to have books about him but she cannot afford. I am a MJ fan too and I had bought a book about him when I got my first pay check. So the book somehow has a sentimental value. So to make the long story short, I gave her the book as my X-mas. She was elated when she opened my gift, she jumped up and down. She just hugged me and thank me all night and the morning after.
