does this make sence to anyone else. like i said before i just had school registration for my daughter the other day. i went to the school closest to my house. but they won't provide bussing. i'm in the process to apply for it and see what happens. the reason there is no bussing is because that school is not in my zone. even though it's about a 5 minute drive. they want her to go to a school that is a 20 minute drive away. the princible told me if she went to the other school she'd be on the bus for almost an hour with all the stops. why would they send your kids to the farthest school. i dont' get that. now i'm waiting to hear if i can get bussing to the closer school. it's too much for a 4 year old to be on a bus for an hour. has anyone else come across this problem?

I have had problems with school boundries. My daughter went to an elementry school two blocks from my house so I did not have to worry about bussing. I took her myself. I don't think that I would use a bus for a 4 year old. I am a little nuts and over protective so I would have to take her. The school districts were put into affect so that there was a veriety of students. The government did not want to have all black kids going to one school and all white kids in another. This way if you live in a certain area your child will go to school a and if you live in another area your child will go to school B. I know that you can go outside your area but there is a lot of paper work to do this. The principle should have the papers for you to fill out. Good luck.

i have no other choice but to put my daughter on a bus. that's why i don't want her to go where it would be an hour ride and i want her closer. i have filled out the paper work this week. she's allready been approved to attend that school my only problem is waiting to see if we will be approved for bussing.

My daughter starts school this year (August) so I haven't been through any of the school - problems, but I have to say, I've never heard of anything like this before! That's just odd.. I'd definitely try and get more information about it if you can and maybe see what you can do about finding other transportation if you have to.. Maybe they'd be willing to make an exception since you live so close?

i've spoken to the scools and the school board. even other parents around here have the same issue as me. it doens't make sense i know but it's the way it works around here. we've applied to get bussing to the closer school, but we won't know for a couple of weeks after all the school registrations are over with.

Yes, we have that problem here and I don't understand it either and when they try to explain it to me, it just gets more confusing. LOL! We carpool now, so I'm lucky I don't have to mess with it anymore. Good luck.

wow wierd. No, the way our town is set up, there are 2 elementary schools and it is divided up by people on this side of blah blah street goes to this school, and people on this side of that street goes to the other school. Fortunately, it works out as far as I know. My son goes to the school that is right beside us. I wouldn't let my daughter that young be on a bus that long. That's ridiculous! I sure hope you can get it to where the bus will pick her up for this closer school. Is there no way you can just take her in to school? I stay home so I just take my son and pick him up, but some people can't do that I know. I hope you get it fixed.
