I just saw table top in the skip out-side my local shop, It's in perfect condition, looks like a giant flower shape, and would make a great table top for my kids crafts table, as our dinner table gets used for arts and crafts, and lets say is a bit destroyed with glue, glitter in the grooves etc. Would you take it out?? Is it stealing? Now don't think I'd just take it (but my partner would).

I certainly would take it out. If something is getting thrown away and you want to make "Reduce, Re-use, Recycle" motto that we are constantly being told to employ in our dealings as consumers. so this is reusing something rather than letting it rot in landfill.

I would ask first. My neighbor sat a bicycle out at the curb last year for garbage. It was in great shape. So my husband knocked on their door and asked them if he could have it. They said yes of course. Then he took it to a good will shop and gave it to them. It sold for $25.00 and the money went towards good will.

There is such a growing need for all of us on the planet to reduce, reuse, and recylce...why not! To be safe, I'd probably go and ask first. Of course, my luck, the owners would tell me that I could buy it! Ha!

I don't think it would be stealing as they are obviously just going to throw it away. Just to be on the safe side though, I would go and ask first, that way if you get some weird looks when you are taking it, you won't feel like your doing the wrong thing.
