It is,but supposedly it's not the main motivation for most employees. Most workers, if given the choice, would choose more time off over more money. And they say that work factors such as respect from supervisors, control over their work, etc. are more important than just money.

practicality wise, maybe money is a good motivator, but promotion may be better or recognition as well to boost the morale of the employee.

in philippines? i think it doesn't matter.. as long as you can earn money, that's enough, whether you have mean or kind managers... but i prefer to have a decent job with good environment.

Money can indeed be a good motivator, however, a kind employer that is good with people can do alot more. Kind words and fair actions can bring a loyalty that money cannot buy. I would work for less money for a good people manager that is kind and speaks true.

extrinsic and intrinsic rewards are both good.:)some wants money as a reward, others settle for trophy, and gratitude from their boss.a good tap on the shoulderfor a job well done makes an employee happy.how about you, which one would you like more?

well, i guess so. let's admit it, people work because of money, to provide themselves financially. when the salary is high enough, it boost the employee to do better and better knowing that he/she couldn't waste time 'cause he/she is being paid for it. 'hope i get a salary increase for this. lol!
