My discussions are usually based on actual life experiences. A thought about childhood, parenting, cooking, crafts, etc. Sometimes I am answering a discussion and it triggers a memory and I am inspired.

I'm exactly like the person who responded before me. I come up with ideas when I'm away from the computer. This doesn't just apply to Mylot though. There are many times when I'm out or doing something else and I think about something I want to look up on the internet and when I get down to the computer I forget. Sign of me getting old!!! I don't start a lot of discussions or go out of my way to think of ideas. I respond to a lot though. As long as it's quality discussion I don't think it matters a great deal whether you start them or respond to them.

I am sure that your ideas will attract people.
I come up with mine from what I observe in the world, or what I hear that MyLot friends are interested in.
This post is a good one. You can do it. Just ask questions as if you were talking to someone in front of you. Good luck sugar.

The whole outside world is a world full of topics for discussions. When we go outdoors, nature will speak to us. Even the busy city and the bustling traffic will put some ideas across to us. When we rest at home, our mind will think of issues. See, so many topics to discuss. Only thing we need to do is to organise our topics for discussions offline. Write in a notepad or something e.g. pda, whenever an inspiration hits you.

I normally start a Discussion if something comes to my Head or something happens or I start one if it is about my little Dog Gissi but not very often on him lol. But he does sometimes get up to some tricks and my Friends on here feel like they know him lol. I will not do a lot maybe 1 or 2 a week or I might even go a week without it just depends.

I have the same problem. I can't seem to think up a discussion topic to save my life. Most of the time I find it hard to even FIND discussions to respond to. I will read through them, the responses and find I have nothing to add and move on.
This is a lot harder than it looks. LOL!

I have one idea. If we look into the newspapers daily, there will be a lot of issues to discuss. There are issues on international affairs, politics, domestic happenings, crimes, businesses, etc. Won't this help us not to run out of ideas to write?
