What is the subject that you wrote about that got the most page views?

Now that Associated Content has a page view counter for our articles, what has been the topic for you that has drawn the most attention? My most popular one was an end-of-the-year story about the top 10 people we "loved to hate" in 2006. That was a special offer. For just a regular article, my most popular topic was an article about the next big business scandal that will be bigger than Enron. What has your most popular article? Do you try and write articles specifically because you think they will be popular?

The article that I wrote that has had the most views is one on tehe 10 best newyear's resolutions. I was in a really strange mood when I wrote it but people seemed to take to some of the ideas. My approach was to find resolution that brought more pleasure and sanity instead of those which were more like a list of things given up for Lent. I think my twist on reality sometimes confuses people. I really enjoy writing there. I have NEVER had an offer over $7.00 and find it interesting when people complain about getting less than $8.00. I am happy to get the offers and build a portfolio, kind of. I am thinking about writing a couple of e-books but haven't had the energy to get down to it. I would like to submit articles to AC more often. It would be awesome to be able to pull 3 articles per week but I am just not able to yet.

I always watch for the special offers and do those if the topic is up my alley. They can be $6 or $8 or even $10. I'd rather write knowing I'll get a certain amount than put work into an article and then find out the offer is only $3 or $4. They seem to offer more for videos, but I don't have a video camera. Too bad, since a three-minute video can be done in less time than writing an article.

They seem to be doing away with the minimums for content they request. The last couple had no minimum. I did one on the thing "that changed my life" so I am still doing them without a minimum. I did like knowing that I would get a certain payment, but I guess I have to go with the flow when it comes to AC. I agree about the video; if you have a video camera, it seems like the way to go. Personally I never watch videos or YouTube stuff, but then I have dial-up!

Keep posting discussions and replying to other people's, then they'll come and check out your discussions. I have some discussions that have been around for months and have no responses, others that only have 2 responses. There are so many users and discussions, they just get lost.

My article on dating for the disabled. It has at least twice as many hits as any other article I've written, and it's received the most comments as well. As well as got me plenty of private messages from people who read it and wanted to tell me how they felt about it privately. It was really an amazing thing, to know I reached that many people.

This sounds like a great topic, even to those of us not facing those challenges.

The topic that I had the most answers to was the difference between Legal or Illegal Aliens....I really feel people are tired of border hoppers....Not caring to get the proper paper work to come into the United States.... This is a real problem and I feel we need to keep Congress's Feet to the fire to get this stopped....Cause if we don't we will lose our country..... People are starting to wake up about the problem of Illegal Aliens......Because they are here Illegally and they are from a forgien country so that makes them aliens..

I like to write about political topics, but ironically the one article I had rejected from Associated Content was about Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the house. I don't know if they thought it was too old or too partisan. No explanation of why it was rejected. I just posted it on Gather, and it seemed to get a pretty good response. Anyway, at least that says to me that someone at Associated Content is judging things to some degree.

For starters, I love the new page views feature. My most popular article yet has been a piece on the Kevin Federline superbowl commercial and how it offended fast food workers. It even got the most comments.

AC pays through Paypal. If you've signed up as a member they should have asked you for your Paypal email address at some point in the registration process. Maybe you didn't complete all the registration steps?

The first article I submitted, about caring for and cleaning sterling silver jewelry, has received the most views, but most of them have only been recently published so hopefully they will get some views also.

It takes some time to get people to view your articles, but when they find you as a friend, you will get more page views. Old articles can get popular again, too, if the topic is a hot one. Keep writing. Thanks for replying. I like the topic of caring for your jewelry; you could go on a whole riff of caring for stuff (your car, your pet, your home, your appliance, etc.). Smart.

I wrote one against President Bush and his policies on the war, it got alot of responses, pages in fact. The only time I have had more than one pages in responses. No I just write what is ever on my mind, not to be popular.

My most popular article was one that compared the bad English of North Korean press statements to the fractured English of the "Borat" movie character. Ironically, that article got me my lowest payment- $3!

I agree with you, the amount has no correlation with the popularity as far as I can tell. And then they started paying only $5 for news items, which are the bread and butter of instant attention. Strange. Now I heard on MyLot that they have changed their way of calculating the payment altogether, but I haven't experienced this yet.

One of my biggest articles was one that I wrote about caring for lucky bamboo. I was quite surprised at how many hits it had, but none of my articles have large numbers of hits. I'm sort of disappointed and I'm not sure how to get more! It's very discouraging, especially with them changing how they offer payments now.

I agree that it is difficult to get people to read your articles. I had seen some folks here on MyLot requesting friends; I went over and read and commented on many people's articles, but not one of them did it for mine (and I don't have many articles either). It's frustrating. What's up with the payments? I saw on MyLot that Associated Content was offering weird sums, but I've gotten normal amounts, although I have a couple of articles they haven't reviewed yet, so maybe my turn will come. Thanks for responding.

I didn't think that it would get very many page views, but my piece about when I was a stripper has gotten over 1,000 views in the past week... It's also published on Epinions: http://www0.epinions.com/content_4947288196 where it only got 125 views. Funny how that stuff works. I think that AC might have put me on one of the featured articles or something, it was my highest paying piece at $20.

That doesn't surprise me at all... women probably want to find out what it's like to be a stripper, and guys... well, guys are guys, and love to hear about women taking their clothes off! Any way you can do a sequel to that article that could also pull in a good offer, like a profile of some of the strippers, etc.?

Wow, I have never gotten anything close to $20, and now it seems that they are lowering their rates and making them odd amounts. They just offered me the lowest amount ever for one of my articles based on the new formula. I was offered $4.12 for an article on how to save electricity. I have always gotten at least $6 if not more, usually $10, so this was so disappointing.

I think this would make a great article! I love to read and write about politics and current events, but it's not everyone's cup of tea. I am always so surprised when I run into people and they say that they never watch the news, read a paper, or vote. That kind of disdain for government is very unfortunate, I think.

I will have to check my CP page. I haven't written for AC for a few months, but I just submitted a new article today. I tend to wtite articles thatt are seachable, but that are about subjects that interst me. Articles like that practically write themselves!

For me my best topic was abpout computers. I have had my computer in the shop almost two months now and they still can't fiure out what is wrong with it. I had over 3 pages of responce for that one and that is my best so far. Alot of people just wrote about how they could fix their own. I responded one time good for you, what does that have to do with the topic of how long it should take to fix a computer?

If you, guys, have time, go read them - they are great.
