I have watched every superhero movies there is (Superman, Batman, Spiderman, X-Men, etc.) and noticed that these heroes are usually concerned with cities only. Shouldn't they be helping in solving poverty, illness, terrorism, corruption, global warming like in Africa, Namibia and other nations? Afterall they are given superhuman abilities.

That is an interesting point! It would actually make a very good TV series as well. I like how that new show "Heroes" at least attempts to go more global.

Is Heroes a good show? I have heard a lot of good things about it but never got around to watching it. I'm hooked to Prison Break...its addicting.

I think it's good - very entertaining and imaginative. I like the way all the characters in the series are linked somehow.

hi there, ha ha ha, those super heroes used to be in cities!!! i think the cartoon's developer never think about the issue to help those who need the most favor. we can suggest it to them after this.hence the kid could learn something new (kindness) in their cartoon favorite shows.

Good question, cities are considered urban jungles and to heroes that is perfect because that means that there are people to save.

Because the cities are the favourite places of bad elements. Actually the movies are done based on the imaginative minds of the scriptwriters. If the story calls for it, then, these superheroes could do the impossible. Global warming, terrorism, and so an and so forth are just but sensitive issues that need so many expert opinions before these could be done into movies.

Many heroes live in big cities and generally protect more in bigger cities, but this is not necessarily the only thing. Superman grew up in Smallville, a small Kansas town. The X-Men are based in Westchester Main, and not in a big city as well. Keeping on the X-Men theme, several of the x-men are from other places, Storm for instance is African, and no not African American but actually African. Wolverine was "created" in the woods of Canada according to one of many origin stories, in this one he got his claws and adamantium armored bones in a Weapons X base to try to make him into a supersoldier. Then there is Magnito, sure he isn't technically a hero, in most comics he is a villan, but really it is a matter of perspective, he isn't exactly evil, he is just trying to stop mutant descrimination, he lives on Astroid M in space, definately not a city. As for the big issues you talk about, quite often the comics do indeed deal with these issues, sure they don't outright solve them, but they do try.

Hey its just like life, when people aren't big enough or don't have as much money you get looked over and moved to the side so that the big man can hang your name in lights. Smallville ,however isn't in the city, he's a small town boy helping out around the farm and those in need. Well for right now anyway.
