Can you suggest some ways to help the poor people?

In my small way I have done something to help the poor but I cannot do it on a daily basis. The poor need food, clothing and housing. Most of the houses are in poor condition some sleep on the ground without cemented floor. They have weak lungs. Some houses are flooded in rainy season. Many do not have electricity. they cannot afford to pay the electric bill. They drink - water that are not treated. Many get sick in rainy season. Many have lungs deseases. I hope someone out there wants to help the poor.

ahahaa try orgainizing fishing courses , " Dont give a man fish ,teach him how to fish "
but seriously u could try what my friend's aunt did, they talked with couple of neighbores and friends, organized a non-profit organization and tried to help the poor bit by bit, they went to their places and asked them what they needed most ,and took care of the basics, and they have fund raising events and stuff like that, so if you know couple of ppl and u are willing to work abit to help them it is all possible, for starter u can organize a BBQ and invite friends and neighbores who are interested to help and feed the poor, i help them to do it once and it was fun, we took a van filled it up with food and than went to their places one by one and gave them the food , and some word of encouragement and we were off to help others.

Thanks that is a good idea. most often I do it alone, myself. I do not seek help from others.

Yea u are good person , i am going to rate u plus, but if u want to be more effective u got to find more ppl, may be u could find ppl in mylot by starting a new discussion in your area and talk to them about organizing some event for the poor,but make sure to take pre-cautions meeting ppl in real life whom u knew on the net mite not be that safe, it is jus an idea how u can get more ppl to help u out .

The most common problem faced by the poor people in my country is due to the dirty water that they drink. They just don't understand the need to eradicate the problem. So I have an idea for the problem. I thought of having a machine for them which can provide them with clean water to drink. The cleaning rods used in these machines are not so expensive and thus if everyone in a village contributes towards it, then its quite possible to raise their level. They need to be made aware of the various problem that can cripple their entire village.

I go to the Barrio, many people there also suffer poverty. They borrow money to start planting rice. At harvest time they just earn a little and paid the lender with high interest. For 1,000 pesos borrowed the farmer has to pay back 1,000 plus 3 cavan of palay. The money earned will not support them for the next planting season.

Here its quite different. The poor here have a great deal of problems. One by one they will be eradicated I hope.

I do it in my own small way-I give away old clothes ,shoes,woollens etc.

we all want to help the poor but it is better to teach them how to earn. We came in the same country base on what is written in your profile, am also into an advocacy but am into helping blind children in our area. I joined rotary club coz they are of service to others, my group mates helps me with my projects, you can ask in your local community about it. But if you want a project of your own ask tesdas help to organize a short course seminar in your area to teach the out of school youth, the wives and have a backyard livelihood program soon. goodluck

Every where I go in the Phil. I see poor people. I wonder the rich have eyes too. Why can't they see the poor and do something to help them.

I wish I could teach them to catch fish. They live in poor areas. No water to built a fish pond.
