during fashion shows those kinds of outfits are on display which we can't use in real life. i think fashion shows are nothing but only a means to show flash. girls hardly wearing anything make long parades in front of a number of audiences. don't they feel embarrassed? is it okay to organize those shows?

i dont feel like that, as fashion shows are not only organized for, modern n western dresses,, i like watching a fashion show of any tradional designer, it depends on ur choice of the the designer whose show u like.....

I'd like to believe that fashion shows are designers' means of expressing themselves, so I don't see anything wrong with organizing these shows. The functionality and wearability of the clothes featured is a different story, although I'm quite sure the ready-to-wear pieces faaaar outnumber the outrageous ones, so I see no problem there as well. Also let's not forget that fashion is part of a larger group of arts that cater to people's aesthetic tastes, and who's to say that beautiful works of art aren't and shouldn't be appreciated and displayed for people to see, right? Also, the models who walk the runway do this for a living and also (despite popular belief) experience their own share of stress and fatigue from constant traveling, practice, shooting, etc, not to mention not-so-good comments from people, so we should respect what they do for a living. Just my two cents. Peace. :)

Uhmmm... Why should they feel embarrassed? Everyday when we go out of our houses, we parade ourselves in front of people don't we? And I beg to differ on the statement saying we can't use the outfits in real life. Most runway shows are for ready to wear garments and only couture lines are way out there but that's the point. I guess you won't see anything you can wear in real life in these shows if you only wear sweats for any occasion.
