have you ever been in formal training or you just taught yourself how to play badminton? i started playing in a military camp's badminton gym and there i just watched the good players in their matches. i never got any formal coaching but rather, developed my own style in playing. how important, do you think, is formal training when you've been playing for years already?

i agree.., for me, footwork is very important, if not the most important thing you need to master in badminton...

yeah i have a unique style of playing, and the foot work is equally different. The normal game pace with me is fast and hard, and with every chance i get, smash it down in the other end of the court.

I've been playing for about 10 years on and off now but I have never join any formal training.. I just got my styles in watching players whenever they practice and having matches...Formal training is really important because there are lots of styles and proper way of handling rackets that we still needs to develop, especially when we used to join tournaments, this is really important.
