I used to teach seminary to a group of teens once a week in my home. I always wanted to get a set of those TV tables, I think they are called. They were so expensive that I could not afford to purchase them. I have seen them used as end tables and as night/lamp stands beside beds. I have also seen them pulled up to the couch when watching TV to hold food or drinks. They would also be great to use when you are homeschooling. They are great to set on the porch while you are reading and relaxing to hold your drink or other things. There are just so many uses for these versatle stands. The commercial ones are not nearly as sturdy as I would like for them to be. They can be easily folded up when not in use and stored in a closet. My husband loves to do woodworking in his spare time. He has since made me a couple of these. I love them even better than I thought I would. They are not vey expensive to make. They can be made rather quickly. One can easlily be made in one afternoon. You will find the instructions complete with the material list here: http://www.handymanwire.com/articles/foldingtableplans.html

These are really great because they fold up for easy storage. They make great little stands to fix up card on or anything
