Why have American girls become so shallow, materialistic and vile?

Never in my life have I been so repulsed by American girls and women. They are slaves to money and obsessed with looking good, whatever that really means since they dress horribly. The low-slung jeans are awful; they misshape much of the lower body and make girls look fatter than they really are. Girls overseas have their act together, especially in Asia and many parts of Europe. They appear confident, but not overbearing as are American girls. Sorry, I'm just deeply disappointed.

Not all american girls and women dress like this. Most of the time I don't. Yea I wear low cut jeans but my shirt at least covers what the jeans don't most of the time. Sure I want to look good but I'm not going to dress like a whor* to do that. I have seen girls in other countries dress much like american girls. Such as the country of Macedonia. My boyfriend and his family is from that country. They used to be covered up and dressed tasteful. Now they dress just like american girls do. Some still hold their values but most do not. If they do hold their values it's just around their parents.

I have to say that I look better than I did before and for a long time felt self conscious about my nose. One day I realized that I LIKED my nose just as it is (my boyfriend said good!) I'm not a slave to fashion--I want my clothes to fit! Everything is made for size 0 girls (a la Paris Hilton, with no boobs or hips!) but the average woman is a size 12! (and what IS a size 12?) I was reading Glamour (for my job mostly!) and there was a great pictorial about America Ferrara--they dressed her to show her CURVES! Gave me hope because I've got 'em too (well, above the waist!) Low waist jeans are a god send for someone like me who's packing her weight around her middle--I wear long loose tops to cover that area anyway!
As for being a slave to money...that's from society and what they see. Heck, I don't want a LOT of money but I'd like to have money to pay my bills (and those are not exorbinant anyway!)
Confidence comes from within and everyone needs to learn that!

Why are you disappointed or even surprised.
Americans... and Australians for that matter have no history and no class. They are barbarians with money.
The dressing code in Australia is appalling. And so it is in the US. People dress to be confortable... not to look good.
Australian teenagers are in a class of their own... they dress like the blacks in the American ghettos. Nobody has yet been able to figure out why. Except that they might disillusion themselve into believing that they are as tough as those black street kids.
So yes... you have your 17 year old male teenager in baggy short and a tee-shirt looking like sh..t... but he smell good... so he thinks... after pouring a bottle of whatever over himself. You can actually smell him one hundred yard away. And the girls think that he is so cool... Because Australian girls like things which smell like perfum.
