To me this saying means that your first love will always have a place in your heart. It does not necessarily mean that you still love him, or he's the biggest love. It just means that the first person you love will always have a special place in you. he will never be forgotten.

No. I believe the "I'm in love at first sight" is an illusion arising from our hormones that are urging us to mate. It is possible to be attracted to someone and sense a connection with them at first sight, but I think this only happens if you actually talk to the person. I don't think you can see some hot chick in front of you at the grocery store checkout and suddenly say, "Eureka! That's the one!" Still, conversation will reveal if you have anything in common. For instance, I recently met this guy at school whom I was instantly attracted to, and I didn't really know why. Physically he wasn't my type at all, but he seemed intelligent, and that drew me to him. I don't think this means he is my soulmate, though anything is possible. I think experiences like these are meant to help us realize what criteria we have for an ideal mate and prime us for meeting someone compatible.

i believe its never forgottten, nto that you think about him/her everyday. they might come up in your mind every blue moon. but the point is, since it was yoru first relationship, you tend to idealize it, and look back on it as being a very positive time in your life. its sad, cause im with my first love right now, and well not sure if it will withstand time.
