I'm walking with my "breast friends" in the Susan G. Komen 3 Day walk to help raise funds and find a cure for breast cancer! As a participant in this walk each person on my team is required to raise $2200. Personally I'm doing REALLY well and getting close to that fundraising goal. Some of my other team mebers are just getting started. If you are passionate about helping to stop breast cancer and find a cure then join us in this fight. We're already out walking, walking, walking to train for the big event. This week I have walked 13 miles total. Next week I'll walk 15. I'm training to be able to walk 20 miles each day 3 days in a row! That's a LOT of walking but as the saying goes... I'd walk the world over to find a cure for breast cancer! It's in my family and seems EVERYONE's family these days so we all need to band together and raise the funds to do the research and find a CURE now! If there is anyway that you can help my team all reach our $2200 individual goals we will walk proudly in the name of your loved one. You can go to our team page and donate as little as $5 right online that goes directly to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation 3 Day walk fund. here's a link to our team page: http://www.breastfriendsva.com Thanks so much for your support!

You go girl! That is a great thing to do... I walk yearly in the Relay for Life-- A fight against all Cancers-- We have alot of cancer in my family also. I find it odd that there is a set limit that you have to raise individually- This would be a deterrent for alot of people who want to help out- It's hard to come up with $2200 per team let alone a person. Good luck to your team with that- And good luck walking the 60 miles..

I know $2200 per person does seem like a LOT doesn't it. But it's a NICE far reaching goal that you really have to be committed to reaching. I was really worried at first that I wouldn't be able to raise that much $$$ but unfortunately SO many ppl's lives are affected by breat cancer that there are many MANY people interested in supporting this cause.

That is so awesome! People see 60 miles and think that it is going to take forever, just pace yourself and make sure you change your socks often LOL. There are a lot of these typesof events here in the summer months, with six inches of snow on the ground I doubt that even the most hard core of walkers would be able to complete the 60 mile goal. Thanks for posting this and the link, it is something that everyone needs to think about!

Thank you! I agree whether ppl donate in support of my team or not it's a great thing to just put out there and make other aware of. Perhaps I'll inspire someone else to walk in the 3 day walk too! It's NOT too late to sign up and they host the walks in many different cities.

That is really nice and you should be proud of yourself. I would like to do something like that if I was in good health. That has to be such a rewarding feeling to accomplish something like that. Good Luck - I hope the weather is nice when you do this walk.

Thank you so much! I do also hope the weather is nice. the walk is the 1st weekend in August in Boston. I think it will be fine. I'm used to the heat of August in Virginia so it should feel a bit cooler there.
